Mary Amato, Please Write in This Book

Page history last edited by Lisa Gordis 13 years, 4 months ago

Bibliographical information:

Amato, Mary. Please Write in This Book. Illus. Eric Brace.  New York: Holiday House, 2006.

Brief summary:

The book opens with a note from Ms. Wurtz dated August 31, explaining she has hidden this journal in the classroom Writer's Corner. Students who find it are invited to write in the book during Center Time, so that students can "talk" through its pages. The rest of the book represents the illustrated writing of the students, tracing their interests and their conflicts, and culminating with a collaboratively written story.

Comments:

My daughter loved this book, and everyone in the house ended up reading it and laughing hilariously.

Grade/Age level:

Our library marked this "young reader," but its humor appealed to older siblings and adults as well.

Cautions:

If you like this book, you might also like . . .
