Page history last edited by Lisa Gordis 15 years, 2 months ago

Bibliographical information:

Flanagan, John. The Battle for Skandia. New York: Philomel Books, 2006. Book 4 of the Ranger's Apprentice series.

Brief summary:

Will and Evanlyn are hiding in the countryside after their escape from Skandia when Evanlyn is captured. Meanwhile, Halt and Horace are searching for them. Evanlyn's captors turn out to be Temujai, who are planning to attack Skandia. This leads to an unlikely--and uneasy--alliance between the party from Araluen and the Skandians.

Comments:

This is a pretty good read--my daughter and I both thought it was one of the better books in the series so far. The interplay of adventure, strategic discussion, and relationships works well, and the characters remain appealing.

Grade/Age level:
