Page history last edited by Lisa Gordis 16 years, 2 months ago

Bibliographical information:

Winter, Jeannette. The Tale of Pale Male: A True Story. New York: Harcourt, 2007.

Brief summary:

Pale Male, a Red-tailed hawk, builds a nest with his mate atop a Fifth Avenue apartment building. Though bird watchers are fascinated, the inhabitants of the building are less pleased by the mess they create. Over the winter, they have the nest dismantled and remove the pigeon spikes that supported it. Under pressure, they replace the pigeon spikes, and Pale Male and his mate return.

Comments:

The book is based on a true story, and includes the address of the building where the controversial nest was located.
