Amy Schwartz, Bea and Mr Jones

Page history last edited by Lisa Gordis 16 years, 1 month ago

Bibliographical information:

Schwartz, Amy. Bea and Mr. Jones. 1982. New York: Harcourt, 2006.

Brief summary:

Bea is bored in kindergarten, but her father says that it sounds like more fun than his job at an advertising agency. Since Bea thinks that his job sounds like fun, they decide to change places.

Comments:

Older kids and adults seem to find this story more delightful than kindergarteners; it speaks to nostalgia for the fun of kindergarten. My kindergartener didn't find the story especially appealing, as she couldn't imagine how anyone could be bored in kindergarten.

Grade/Age level:

Past kindergaten to adult
